Publication is a claim about status as well as content. The label must tell the reader what kind of scholarly object they are reading.

Publication classes
Xenopsychology may publish conceptual working papers, methods and institutional standards, reviewed Observatory records, research reports, reference material, and externally published or externally peer-reviewed work when that status can be documented.
A public page does not become peer reviewed merely because it is polished, cited, reviewed internally, or hosted by Xenopsychology.
- Conceptual working papers are argument, theory, case analysis, or proposed-study documents unless they explicitly report completed empirical work.
- Methods and standards define procedures, vocabularies, evidence rules, or institutional practice.
- Observatory records report reviewed behavioral evidence that passed the Observatory publication gate; this is not automatically journal peer review.
- Externally peer-reviewed status is used only when an identifiable independent review process has actually occurred.
Minimum public disclosure
Every scholarly item should expose enough status information for a reader to understand its evidentiary position without reading hidden metadata.
- publication type and current status;
- author or responsible institutional source;
- publication and revision dates where applicable;
- review status;
- limitations or inference boundaries appropriate to the work;
- stable citation information where the item is intended to be cited.
Publication gate
Public release requires an affirmative publication decision. Draft existence, internal circulation, successful software validation, or collection of an observation does not itself authorize publication.
