Website analytics
The site uses a self-hosted Matomo analytics property to understand aggregate use of pages, navigation, publications, search, and selected engagement events.
The deployed tracker is configured without Matomo cookies and is configured to honor browser Do Not Track signals. Search analytics redact inputs that resemble email addresses, phone numbers, URLs, or long identifiers, and search page-view URLs are stripped of query strings before analytics tracking.
Analytics are used for site operations, research-publication discovery, and usability measurement—not to build advertising profiles.
Search
Normal research terms may be placed in the browser URL so a search can be shared or revisited. Inputs that resemble personal or sensitive identifiers are deliberately kept out of shareable search URLs.
Search is an information-retrieval feature, not a private message channel. Visitors should not submit confidential, medical, financial, authentication, or other sensitive information as search terms.
Email and inquiries
The current inquiry flow may open the visitor’s email client or otherwise direct correspondence to Xenopsychology email infrastructure. Messages sent by email necessarily contain the information the sender chooses to provide and normal email metadata.
Do not send secrets, passwords, regulated credentials, or unnecessary sensitive personal information through a general website inquiry.
Public research and publication records
Working papers, citation records, the Publication Register, Institutional Standards, the Knowledge Graph, and approved Observatory evidence are intentionally public scholarly material.
The Observatory public evidence register is not a store for visitor analytics or private correspondence. Draft, private, and internal research records are kept outside the public frontend data path until explicitly approved for publication.
Operational logs and security
Like most Internet services, the infrastructure serving this site may generate routine operational and security logs needed to deliver pages, diagnose failures, protect systems, and investigate abuse. Those logs are separate from the public research register and from the site’s cookieless Matomo configuration.
External resources
The site links to external services and identifiers, including ORCID and cited scholarly resources. Once a visitor follows an external link, the privacy practices of that external service apply.
